On Monday 18th October, Get SET welcomed its second cohort of learners under a free programme that helps people to find work.
The SSU programme (Skills Support for the Unemployed), is a short training programme that helps people to develop valuable employability skills. It is funded by the Growth Company and typically takes place over a period of around two weeks.
Our KickStart lead, Tayyibah Masood was delighted by the attendance and by the quality of discussions that took place, saying: “What a fantastic turnout and what an eventful workshop we had this afternoon! Thank you to all those who attended, and to the employers who did their virtual tours.
Course tutor Naheed Ahmed said: “It was great to welcome a new cohort of learners and to meet people with such a range of backgrounds, talents and ambitions. It’s always especially nice to be able to help people through the SSU programme, because it teaches skills that really are incredibly important when getting a foot on the careers ladder.”
